AIMCIS-AUXL — Auxiliary & Emerging Domains
A dedicated expansion domain for emerging fields, hybrid categories, and future technologies not yet formalized. AUXL ensures AIMCIS can evolve indefinitely without altering the core 12-domain structure.
Scope
The Auxiliary & Emerging Domains domain provides a mechanism for incorporating new domains as they emerge — from quantum AI to neuro-symbolic systems to bio-digital interfaces.
Domain Addition Process
- Proposal: Working Group submits a domain addition proposal with scope, requirements, and integration points.
- Review: TSC reviews the proposal against AIMCIS principles and existing domain coverage.
- Ratification: Board of Stewards ratifies new domain (requires 2/3 majority).
- Implementation: Domain profile developed, test cases defined, AAA training materials published.
Certification Requirements by Assurance Level
| Requirement | AL0 | AL1 | AL2 | AL3 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New domain criteria | Self-declared against AUXL framework | Automated checks against provisional criteria | AAA-verified against ratified criteria | Fully certified with annual recertification |
| Cross-domain linkage | Optional | Required for AL1 domains | Full chain with AAA attestation | Real-time streaming verification |
| Emerging tech readiness | Self-assessed | Automated compatibility check | AAA-verified implementation | Continuous monitoring + adaptive criteria |
Purpose: AUXL ensures AIMCIS remains future-proof. As new AI application domains emerge, they can be incorporated through the AUXL process without disrupting existing domain profiles or requiring changes to the core 12-domain structure.
